Location: Arkona, Ontario, Canada

Brachiopods also known as lamp shells, are from the clam family and lived from about 600 million years ago to about 100 million years ago. They were common in both fresh and salt water. Brachiopods along with Trilobites were essentially the first hard-shelled invertebrates.

All Brachiopods have a two part, unequal shell.
